In January 2010, Camp War Eagle and Camp Ozark brought over 80 staff members to Aldama, Mexico, to work with G.A.P. Ministries. This is the 3rd consecutive trip for the two Arkansas summer camps and each year has provided valuable relationships and ministry opportunities. Projects in January ranged from medical ministry and construction projects to children’s day camp outreach programs with various local churches. Staff members from both camps stayed at the G.A.P. clinic in Aldama, and travelled each day to various sites, to conduct children’s day camp groups, to work on construction projects and to minister to the people in Chihuahua and Aldama. As is often the case, the staff members from War Eagle and Ozark took home so much more than they could give to the people in Mexico.
Each evening, a worship time was planned at the clinic for the staff, which culminated on the final night with a gathering in the local theater in the Aldama square. The Mayor made a presentation to the group, and many thanks were given on both ends.
It is truly a pleasure to work with the wonderful ministries established through relationships with G.A.P. in Aldama. Each year provides opportunities and relationships that serve to build and develop the Lord’s Kingdom and we are so thankful that He has given us the opportunity to join Him in the great work happening through G.A.P. in Mexico. We look forward to January 2011!
